Time for a change
Recently, I’ve been using this blog primarily to repost pretty pictures show off how artsy I think I am. That’s all well and good, but it’s time for a change.
I created this blog name, Kudzu & Ivy, because it so aptly describes the inner conflict I’ve felt since leaving Atlanta and joining the ranks of Brown University. The untamable nature of kudzu, growing over roads and buildings, covering the landscape of the south, that will always be with me has been hard to trim back like the neat vines of ivy that cover walls of brick across Rhode Island. However, being home I’ve found that my experience up north has changed me, and made it hard to readjust to certain aspects of the south.
As I prepare to spend my summer in Atlanta, the first time I’ve been home this long since high school, I’ve decided to redirect this blog to address the conflict that results from belonging to two seprate worlds.
